Schwab's official developer API for individual developers: real-time quotes, option chains, price history, account balances and positions, plus order placement. All through OAuth 2.0. Requires a free Schwab brokerage account and a free developer account with an approved app. No paper-trading environment is offered, so orders are live.

Setup

  1. Open a free Schwab brokerage account and register at developer.schwab.com.
  2. Create an app and get your OAuth client ID and secret.
  3. Complete the OAuth flow, then call https://api.schwabapi.com endpoints with the access token.
