About

Hardcover is a modern book-tracking app, and its GraphQL API is currently in free beta. A personal API token from your account settings gives you access to books, shelves, reading progress, and your own stats. Note the API is meant for backend and personal automation use, not for browser-side calls, and beta endpoints may change.

Rate limit: 5,000 requests/day, 60 requests/minute, with a burst allowance of 10

Setup

  1. Create a free Hardcover account.
  2. Open your account settings and generate a personal API token.
  3. Read the getting-started doc for the GraphQL endpoint URL.
  4. Send GraphQL queries with the token in the Authorization header.
  5. Build personal automations like reading logs and shelf stats.
