This is LangChain's official starter template for building agents with LangGraph, the graph-based framework for stateful, multi-step agent workflows. You get a working agent graph in src/agent/graph.py plus the visual LangGraph Studio debugger, so you can watch your agent think step by step instead of guessing. It is the natural on-ramp if you want agents with memory, branching logic, and human-in-the-loop review. MIT licensed and free to run locally.

Setup

  1. Clone the template repo
  2. Install it with the command above to get the LangGraph CLI
  3. Open the project in LangGraph Studio with langgraph dev
  4. Edit src/agent/graph.py to shape the agent's behavior, watching each step in the debugger
