About

Mailchimp's Marketing API covers audiences, campaigns, tags, segments, automations, and reporting. API keys are generated in your account settings, and a free Mailchimp plan exists for getting started, so small lists can automate without paying. It is the safe default when a client or employer already runs on Mailchimp.

Setup

  1. Create a free Mailchimp account
  2. Go to Account, then Extras, then API keys, and generate a key
  3. Note your data-center prefix from the key (for example, us21)
  4. Test by listing your audiences
  5. Automate subscribes, tags, and campaign sends from your app
