About
These are the official reference MCP servers, maintained alongside the Model Context Protocol specification itself. They cover the fundamentals every agent builder should know: filesystem access, git operations, GitHub, web fetching, a knowledge-graph memory, and SQLite. They run locally over stdio with no signup, and because they are the canonical examples, every tutorial and client documents them first. Start here when you are learning what MCP can do, then graduate to community servers.
