About
Medusa is a free, MIT-licensed open-source commerce backend you self-host, covering products, carts, orders, customers, payments, and shipping through REST APIs. The Store API handles storefront requests using publishable API keys, while the Admin API powers dashboards and operations. Because it is open source, there are no transaction fees or monthly platform costs beyond your own hosting. It is a strong foundation for custom storefronts and marketplaces.
