Neon is a cloud Postgres database that automatically goes to sleep when idle, so you only pay for what you use. And the free tier needs no credit card. It gives you about 0.5 GiB of storage and roughly 190 compute hours a month, plus instant database branching for testing. It works with any Postgres client or library.

Setup

  2. Click New Project to create a Postgres database.
  3. Copy the connection string from the dashboard.
