About
OpenBao is a free, open-source secrets management server forked from HashiCorp Vault and released under the MPL-2.0 license. It keeps Vault's familiar HTTP API and CLI, including the versioned key-value secrets engine, dynamic credentials, and fine-grained policies. Because it is community-run open source, there are no license fees, seat limits, or feature gates. You run it on your own server or cluster and talk to it over HTTPS with token auth.
