About

Todoist's API (v1) gives programmatic access to your tasks, projects, labels, reminders, and comments. It's free to use with any Todoist account. You just grab a personal API token from settings. Great for personal productivity hacks, like adding tasks from email, voice notes, or other apps without opening Todoist.

Setup

  1. Sign up for free at todoist.com and open the app
  2. Go to Settings → Integrations → Developer and copy your personal API token
  3. Send requests with the header: Authorization: Bearer <redacted>
  4. Try creating a task with the example call in their docs
  5. Add it to your automations (e.g. Zapier, Make, or a simple script)
